A new newsplex is in the works. Thanks to someone who shall remain nameless I can share some details. The plans are still in their early stages for the construction of a brand new newsplex, which according to the insider “will be radically different”. The new set will be something along the lines of what CNN Headline news has, but bigger and in a 2 storie scale. Deco Drive will also get a new set. In addition the station is getting a complete graphics overhaul.
I’m going to speculate here, and say that all of the changes will happen together by the end of the summer, likely sometimes in September or before the November elections

Bad ratings have forced WPBF to change their newscasts.
Starting today, Monday Apr 19th, a new slogan and new anchor line-up will debut.
The 5pm newscasts will be anchored by two women – Lisa Hayward and Kristin Hoke, with Tiffany Kenney joining them at 11pm. All newscasts will begin with the weather forecast, and subsequent weather updates will follow.

Brian Andrews will be leaving 7 pretty soon.
He’s been spotted at stations like WNYW, the FOX affiliate in New York City, interviewing for a job, in Dallas, Seattle and local NBC affiliate WTVJ.
It’s expected he’ll leave the station before or after the May sweeps
The Herald has a blurb on the recent fires that raged around Miami and the hype that engulfed channels 4, 6 and 10. The stations were so overcomed with excitement they started breaking into the programing pissing off viewers enough to get them calling on the phones.
Oddly the one station that stayed course with their regular programing was Channel 7 who used their regular news updates running every half hour.
I’m I the only one that notices the other 3 are going ape over things constantly and 7 holding back? It’s like this revearsal where 4 6 and 10 are trying to outdo and overhype each other? I thought we’re supposed to go calm and quieter with not so much yelling. No?
Two local stations grabbed an award each in the Large TV Market category of this years Edward R. Murrow awards, given by the Radio-Television News Directors Association.
WPBF ABC25 in West Palm Beach, won in the “Continuing coverage” category for their “The Singer Island Murder Mystery”
WTVJ NBC6, in Miramar won in the “Investigative reporting” category with their “Fraud On Four Wheels”
WSVN’s sister station and NBC affiliated in Boston WHDH grabbed 5 awards for their region.
It was awarded in the “Newscast” category for their 7News at 11, for Investigative reporting, Feature reporting, Writing and Overall Excellence categories

XviD keeps fucking around with my PC crashing my video apps and explorer.exe process . Untill I figure out what’s up I can’t get the videos ready for the site, so the update is delayed yet again. I might give mpeg another try and see what happens, got 6GB more of traffic to burn by the end of this month anyways
