NBc6 exilirated over morning win

The NBC6 people are so overjoyed at stealing the #1 spot in the morning news from 7news that they brought some cake and had a station-wide celebration. They even made a pretty graphic showing their ratings vs. those of the other stations and showing they pretty much rolled over CBS4 and Local10 in the morning. Congrats to them.

But.

They, NBC6, compared their ratings only from 5-7am, at least that’s the way I see it from reading the story on their site. 7’s “Today in Florida” ends at 9am, 2 hours later. So 6 probably was number one untill 7am but overall for the morning 7’s whole morning newscast comes out on top by 1 point

May sweeps over

May sweeps ended on Wednesday, they hype is over. Until July of course.
Anyone have the numbers yet?
I suspect CBS4 and 7News are probably vieing for #1, much like it is on the network level between CBS and FOX
Or am I wrong?

Update: looks like nothing major happened. At 5pm 7 is #1 by a hair distance from CBS4, followed by WPLG and WTVJ. At 5:30 7 is again #1 with CBS4 next. WPLG and WSVN tie for #1 at 6pm. The 6pm is 10’s strongest time slot as they actually gain viewers around that time. WPLG beats everyone at 11pm, again, with 5.1 ratings points.
At 10pm ‘7News at 10′ is #1 with an average of 5.9 ratings points.

European ‘Eurovision’, more colorful than Idol

This gal, Silvia Night, was representing Iceland in the European song contest Eurovision, which is similar to American Idol, and got voted out. This is her reaction on losing the contest.
There are a couple bad words in there so watch out.
Most of the report is from a Greek TV station but you’ll get how she feels :)

iVillage Live – NBC project based on WTVJ 10am show ready for launch

NBC’s pet project that is supposed to be based on WTVJ’s 10am show ‘South Florida Today’ is ready for lunch according to Broadcasting and Cable. The new show will be tied to recently aquired women’s site iVillage and be named iVillage Live. It will air from Universal Studios in Florida and possibly have a time slot of 10am to flow out of Today.

Which begs the question – what happens to ‘South Florida Today’? It wouldn’t make sense to remove an all-local show with something national, especially because NBC6 would get a lot less local ads in which means less money for them.

RSS now on wsvn.com

That should be filed under the ‘about fucking time’ category. They finally added RSS to their site separated in several different categories – South Florida news, National, World, Medical Reports, Help Me Howard and Other Special Assignments.

And come next month they should be unveiling an updated wsvn.com wtih more features
