7 changed the Hurricane Graphics

And they look very cool, at least without sound. I’m working now but I’ll try to muster some screen caps in a few minutes

They’ve got new music too, IMO the previous theme was much better. Working on the video now

Update: here’s the video. Im experimenting a bit at the moment to see how it goes with flash. The music is not as bad as I thought, but still the previous theme was much cooler. Oddly they didn’t change the “Surviving a storm” graphics and music.

Downtime tomorrow

Changing servers tomorrow. Some downtime might occur because of all the gigs of data and settings that need to be moved over. It all starts at 13:00 EDT and might go as long as 48 hours. So if things feel flimsy wait before you curse your ISP

Bob Weaver hospitalized with cancer

South Florida’s first weatherman has been hospitalized at Cedar Medical Center suffering from cancer. He has been ill for several weeks, according to a tipster Weaver had hip replacement surgery last Thursday but has not fully recovered.

The Beeb is coming to America!

The BBC has announced it’s bringing BBC World News to the US starting this July! They have already gone live on Cablevision systems in New York but no word on which other cable and satellite cariers will pick up BBC World News and when.

I for one would like to get them even online, something similar to CNN Pipeline

Hurricane season promos

Some of you have already seen them but I just saw the 7news one a few minutes ago. It’s very calm and surprisingly un-hypey. Overall a very nice promo though.

Wonder who’s doing 7’s promos lately because the 7 logo in the hurricane one and in the “See it on 7″ looks very weird.

When I get some time I’ll see about figuring out the encoding issues and will post all 4 station’s promo videos
