The New Sky10 at NAB 2007
Catching up on my DLTV and this popped up while Patrick Norton was showing off photos from NAB 2007.
This is the new Sky10, WPLG’s chopper, that should already be flying. It’s a Bell 407 with top speed of 170mph, recent upgrade to bring it in line with what the other stations have. Not sure if they were showing off something specific (HD gyrocam would be nice) or just having it there for people to fondle.

170 MPH??? WOW! That’s very impressive. Considering the Bell 407 has a max speed (VNE) of 161 MPH and when you install a camera system the mount for it lowers the VNE down another 10 MPH giving it a max speed of 151 MPH

Wow, that is the the fanciest car wreck covering machine I have ever seen. It will also be great for those stand offs where the media tells the bad guys inside everything the cops outside are doing.
