WPLG informs us former WSVN chief meteorologist Bill Kamal has been released from jail to a half-way house in Pennsylvania.
Kamal was arrested in October 2004 for soliciting sex from what he thought was a 14 year old boy.
His sentence officially ends March 2009

It is a sad illness. We have to look for the good in people. I don’t agree at all with the whole under age thing. Children are our tomorrow and we need to protect them. I will no ill will to Bill only hope he gets the help he needs to function and live his life!!!!

There’s at least a little truth in every good lie.
I did read Bill’s side of the story, and find it to be halfway believable.
So does that mean I myself believe him?
Well… yes and no.
I believe, for example, that the water guns and condoms were promos/club freebie handouts, respectively, as he said. He offered proof for the condoms that was never addressed, and come on, how the heck do you seduce someone with a toy water gun? “Let’s have sex or I’ll squirt you with water?”
Actually… if there is a way, I don’t want to know about it.
There are other parts I believe too, and other parts I don’t.
I grew up with Bill Kamal’s work. I lived in Miami from when I was 2 to when I was 9, and every time we needed to know about the weather, my family always tuned straight in to Bill Kamal. Now, I’m about to be 20 in exactly one week, and so after so long away, I can’t fairly say, “Yeah, he’s guilty” or “No, he’s not.” You guys who still live in South Florida could probably judge that better than I can.
I do remember, however, that he was always a great, reliable, and very well-known meteorologist. If there is some way he can truthfully explain and/or justify himself that would make him acceptable again in society’s eyes, I really hope he gets that opportunity. I know, however, that those chances are extremely slim right now, and I hope for one that what he’s charged for is a misunderstanding as he claims, and for two that he’ll get on with his life.
And for three, if the charges against him ARE all indeed true, that full justice is dealt to him.
What i want to know if he has been with any children why hasn’t any come forward now?

Bill used to come into nightclubs with persons that were ALWAYS needing to be carded. So his arrest was no surprise.

I lived in south Fl when this happened. I never believed he was guilty. Just becuase a person is gay and likes younger people doesn’t make him a sex offender does it? then all men or women that like younger companions are sex offenders? he was a good loking man with money why would he have to solicit for sex? really??

People lets not forget that our legal system is not perfect. Lots of innocent people have to make plea deals that they don’t really want to make. But they feel like its a better option than taking themselves to the cleaners trying to prove their innocence lawyers in this country are the ones that should be in jail they pray on your fear. I think kamal was smart to take the deal but I don’t really think we knew the whole story. Again no other kids ever came out and said anything about kamal. Had he been a pedophile and being a well to do weather man people would’ve came out of the woodwork trying to accuse him so they can get his money.
