WOW! Was this memo texted to all the employees!? or did the news director post it on a myspace page!? Either way the overuse of exclamation points screams “middle school”!

I’m glad the kids at WSVN are getting good numbers. It is a shame about the low salaries though. Good luck paying your fpl bill with those ratings!!!!!!!!!!!!

haters? are you serious? do you work there? newt is right. we’ve got high ratings, blah, blah, blah. how ’bout paying us more money then? last place tvj at least pays their people well. i’d rather get low ratings and a bigger paycheck.

It is always the same thing. Good ratings. . .we feed you and that is your raise – nothing else. I agree with anon. . .I will take a bigger paycheck anyday over top ratings. . especially with everything in this sucy economy going up. . .Gas. . groceries. . .WSVN paychecks uh No! ! Same shitty ass paycheck and that’s it. . .

Those people at WTVJ may be getting great paychecks but they might not have a job if WSVN or WPLG purchases WTVJ..

  7. Linda says:

That’s what contracts are for. Think about it…You sign a 3-5 year contract they have to pay that out. With Miami on a resume they can all easily find another job. I would love to be in that situation if it happens.

Producers, editors and live truck operators have contracts at WTVJ?

  9. anon says:

um, adrian, don’t think wsvn or wplg can afford to buy wtvj. post newsweek can afford wtvj, if eddie helps by kicking in some cash for the building, but that is last week’s rumor. this week’s rumor is different, and it doesn’t sound so good for us frycooks, i mean employees at wsvn. try to keep up.

No, only anchors & reporters have contracts.

It’s amazing how people forget about the producers, directors, photographers, editors, live truck operators. you can always tell when management or “talent” post here. they usually forget about the muscle behind the operation.

Anon: they must have deep enough pockets because they placed bids and were subsequently given a walk through of the WTVJ facility.

  12. anon says:

post newsweek has deep pockets, yes, but their walkthrough was simply to gather intel for the new facility wplg is building. as far as ed ansin having the money to buy wtvj by himself? no.

my mom and dad had a walkthrough of wtvj once also. they don’t have deep enough pockets to buy them either.

as far as editors, live truck ops, photogs, production staff, etc. you are absolutely right. they usually do get forgotten about unless there is a problem. then they are the convenient scapegoats. i’m convinced any photog, or engineer could sit down and read prompter. let’s see an anchor tune in a liveshot, or direct/switch a live newscast.

  16. Lucky#7 says:

kudos to the kids at 7…the pay wasn’t what it should’ve been but the atmosphere, friendships, and excitement over news makes working for WSVN worth the lack of pay. I’m now in the largest market on the west coast and I will say no one does news like the people of the plex and I hear it often from other WSVN alum out here. 7 may be considered a boot camp, but each lesson learned pays off.

    hey joe,
i think the point is channel 7 won all of the demos… beating everybody, including 10… wich explains why that place rakes in more money than any other station

  18. Joe says:

duh, since $$ comes from sales, are you saying 7 sold more than 10 (or anyone else)?

  19. admin says:

Joe advertisers buy demographics i.e. 18-34 year old or 25-54 year old not total viewers that’s where the money are made.

So Channel 7 has best demos which = money
