Today NBCMiami.com lost the jarring red/orange color scheme and blocky logo in favor of white and blue tones and a logo using the number 6. The mothership rolled out the refreshed design to all NBC-owned stations and will follow that with a new on-air graphics package, known internally as Look G, using the same blue and white color scheme.

Bob Mayer reitred from WTVJ in July of 2010 and since that time the station hasn’t had a two-anchor team on weekday mornings, leaving Pam Giganti to anchor solo at a small table and having Roxanne Vargas cut in for breaking news.

Yes, it took Comcast buying NBC for WTVJ to get a new set (among other things) but it is finally happening. NBC announced today they’re reinvesting in the 10 owned stations by adding more people, news and equipment, but also that stations in New York, Los Angeles, Dallas and Miami NBC will be getting new sets.

NBC Miami weekend anchor, Amara Sohn, will be filling in all week on NBC’s “Early Today” which airs weekdays at 4 AM, and then she’ll be anchoring MSNBC’s “First Look” which airs weekdays at 5 AM. This coming after an announcement on her Facebook page when she just posted her status update:
