Miami Stations Not Yet, But Orlando Stations Start Sharing While Atlanta Stations Squabble

Miami is, or used to be anyway, a hyper competitive market so we have yet to see our stations create a news sharing pool. But Newsblues.com says Orlando stations started a news sharing pool on Tuesday. Much like other markets the stations will use one team to cover non-exclusive stories such as press conferences instead of each sending their own crew.

Participating are Post-Newsweek owned WKMG, sister station to WPLG in Miami, WOFL-FOX35 and Central Florida News 13. Top rated WFTV and second place WESH are not participating.

WSVN and Q McCray Part Ways, Move Roy Ramos Behind the Scenes

As of Tuesday Q McCray is no longer with WSVN. Tipster tells us management told him he was being let go at the end of last year. McCray was supposed to be Joel Brown’s replacement when he left WSVN for CBS Newspath but that never happened.

Andre Hepkins according to the tipster is now officially Brown’s replacement.

Roy Ramos who reported for WSVN was a freelancer. WSVN took him off air but he’s still with 7 behind the scenes.

Q McCray will be reporting for WFTV in Orlando starting sometime in March.

WTPV Voice Over Guy Dies

Chris Clausen WPTV voice over, and also the voice over to WSVN’s segment sponsor passed away yesterday after suffering a stroke last week.

Clausen was the voice over for many stations across the country including WFTV in Orlando, stations in Memphis, St. Louis and others. He was 63

Jorge Estevez and Cynthia Demos are Office Spouses

The Miami Herald profiled ‘office spouses’ and featured CBS4 News anchors Cynthia Demos and Jorge Estevez.

The two say they instantly clicked when they worked together at WFTV-9 in Orlando and consider themselves to be an office couple.

I always thought they had great chemistry together, it shows on TV they’re friends. Too bad management split them.
