What better way to celebrate the Kentucky Derby than by having several local media members run 100 yards on a sand track for charity? WSVN anchor Diana Diaz, Julie Druda from WPLG, WTVJ anchor Trina Robinson, and several radio personalities participated in the race. Diana Diaz won first place among women, while Steve Goldstein from WINZ 940AM won in the men category.
WTVJ meteorologist Ryan Phillips has been moved to weekday mornings. He takes over for Shiri Spear who left NBC6 recently for a morning weather job at Boston FOX affiliate WFXT. Check out the promo WTVJ is airing a promo making it official.

WTVJ NBC6 morning meteorologist Shiri Spear has left. In a post on her Facebook page Spear says she left to pursue another job opportunity in the New England region and to be closer to her family.
Shiri Spear joined WTVJ in September 2010, her last day at WTVJ was on Friday
WTVJ sports reporter Adam Kuperstein has been promoted to main anchor. He was supposed to anchor the weekday morning newscast with Pam Giganti but instead got put on the evening newscasts after Kevin Corke was shown the door. Kuperstein joined WTVJ in July of 2005 from the FOX station in Toledo, OH as a sports reporter and anchored WTVJ’s Sunday sports show.
Meanwhile, meteorologist Ryan Phillips had been moved to mornings with Pam and Shiri Spear was bumped to weekends. And Trina Robinson will now anchor the 5:30pm newscast while Pam Giganti will add NBC6 at 11am to her schedule
