NBC Miami’s “Sports Extra” To Return to the Air

WTVJ canceled ‘Sports Final’ in July of 2009 amid the souring economy but GM Ardyth Diercks was quoted as saying that it could return eventually. Fast forward to today and we have WTVJ (sports) reporter Adam Kuperstein tweeting that the station’s Sunday sports wrap show is returning!

Kuperstein says ‘Sports Final’ will be back on the air starting September 12 for the Miami Dolphins opener and will be hosted by him and Joe Rose. In a follow up tweet Kuperstein’s adds that “the show will be shorter but EARLIER–about 15 minutes after the Sunday Night Football game on NBC. We can’t wait!”.

Joel Connable Returns to South Florida TV

ttvnFormer WTVJ lead news anchor Joel Connable departed from NBC6 just over seven months ago, and soon, you’ll be seeing him back on the TV airwaves in South Florida and nationwide in a revolutionary new way. Tisha Lewis at WSFL

Well that favorite anchor who we love to hate appears back on the South Florida airwaves. Tisha Lewis, the reporter laid off from WTVJ last month, has now been spotted working at WSFL (The CW). After reciving multiple tips reguarding Tisha, we finally spotted a video with her narration. I’ll post the link as soon as I find it. Congrats, Tisha.

Andre Hepkins, The Prodigal Son, Returns to WSVN

Andre Hepkins, who left WSVN in 2004 for nationally syndicated Celebrity Justice (I believe he was their New York reporter) is now back at WSVN. When CJ was canceled he stayed in NY as reporter for FOX affiliate WNYW but recently he and the station parted ways.

WSVN head mistress Alice Jacobs fired off an email to all the 7Newsies announcing his return calling him “the prodigal son” of 7News or something like that.

Celebrity Justice was hosted by another WSVN alum, Holly Herbert.

Andre Hepkins on 7News, HD, either today or Feb 18th. You are welcome.

*Why was she referring to him as the prodigal son?

Confirmed: Gwen Belton at CBS4

Former Local 10 reporter Gwen Belton left WPLG in 2005 after her contract expired. Soon after, she joined CBS News, and now it is going local again. The CBS4 news director sent out a memo saying she was hired. No word of when she starts, or what her position will be. Gwen will be a reporter and fill in anchor, and is said to start sometime in September. Welcome back to South Florida, Gwen.

You can still read her WPLG profile, here.

/Thanks, tipsters!/
