Bob Mayer Signing Off WTVJ Next Week

Long time WTVJ anchor Bob Mayer is leaving sometime next week. One of our regular readers said they mentioned it during the newscasts.

As per the announcement in May, Bob Mayer’s said he’ll be signing off WTVJ by July 1st which is this coming Thursday!

Bob Mayer called in to WQAM radio on Friday to have a chat with host Sid Rosenberg. The two talked for about 20 minutes and Bob basically repeated what we already know about why he’s retiring from WTVJ – best time to go because of GE’s retirement benefits.

The Sun Sentinel Celebrity Smackdown has come to an end. After weeks of weeding out local television and radio celebs only one has won. Or two as it may be in this case.

And this one was a radio vs TV. WTVJ’s Bob Mayer and Pam Giganti went head to head with Paul and Young Ron from Big 105.9FM. The radio guys won the six week long contest and were officially crowned yesterday morning as King and King of South Florida Media. They beat WTVJ’s Bob Mayer and Pam Giganti 56% to 44%
