  1. WSVN has treated their people like shit for decades. Remember Wayne Chandler the weatherman who always wore that famous carnation ? Wayne got in a terrible car accident during his dinner hour at ch7 when he was hit by a drunk driver. Wayne never fully recovered but asked CH7 owner Ansin for any type of off the air job,Ansin never even responded to this man now walking with a cane. SHAME ON YOU ANSIN!

    • I’m a former employee of WSVN, and I can vouch for the fact that(Ansin) does treat his people like crap! And I was NOT fired, so there is no “Sour Grapes”.

  2. Mr. Burns is not happy.

I guess keeping those older token reporters onboard was no shield against age discrimination after all. 😉

  3. Julian, I wouldnt make a statement like that unless I knew for a fact Wayne was dead. As of a few years ago he was working with his wife in her business. I haven’t heard anything on his passing.

  4. WSVN is one of the toughest, cut-throat newsrooms in the country. I’d like to bash them but I’m with them on this one. Read the Herald article :http://www.miamiherald.com/2010/08/13/1773885/ch-7-denies-age-led-to-firing.html .

Women in this industry know that their jobs are in jeopardy once they age. I’t a well known fact. Although I think age was a factor, she was fired because she was a boring,dull-ass reporter who didn’t produce quality stories on a daily basis who was also rough on they eyes! The fact is that 7’s brand became more breaking news/investigative,she didn’t fit in the new direction, she was not replaced by a younger attractive gal, therefore she has no case! Carmel is even older than her but she turns solid stories and has won the station numerous awards. What has Marilyn done? Unfortunately for older women in this biz you have to continuously work hard. You won’t last on credibility alone.

  5. Channel 7 is a horrible place to work.. The Ansin Family treat their employees like crap. No respect for family life, and foster an alcohol and drug riddled work place. They tolerate management getting arrested for drugs and DUI and should be ashamed of themselves. They are one messed up family!!!! This kind of employer and the people that work at channel 7 are what is wrong in this world and why our kids are growing up so messed up. What a shame

  6. I’m glad they got their butt handed to them in court. I for one have always thought Marilyn is a good looking woman. Only drawback are those cats eyes of hers. But still, not a bad looking woman. So what if she’s old, I like older women and I miss seeing her on tv.

  7. Marilyn is not only a horrible reporter but a horrible person. I worked with her for many years and all she cared about was herself and how she looked. She never had the community’s, she was suppose to be serving, best interest in mind. She doesn’t deserve anything positive in her life.

    • I have to agree with you. She is awful and she is a slut. I know for a fact that she has had numerous affairs with married men.
