TV stations making bank from political ads

0

If you’re not in a swing state chances are you haven’t seen as many political ads as we have. There’s at least 2 ads running at every commercial break and the stations here are making crazy money – 40% more business for October than usual.

”The station is sold out basically every day,” said Robert W. Leider, executive vice president and general manager of Sunbeam Television’s WSVN-TV FOX 7. “It’s the busiest this market has been.”

New hire at WSVN, coming up

0

An insider tells me that Joel Brown is the latest hire at WSVN and he comes from KETK NBC56 in Tyler, TX. He replaces Andre Hepkins and starts next week

His KETK bio

Before I started here at the station, I’d never been to Texas before in my life, so I really didn’t know what to expect. But, now that I’m here, I’ll admit the cowboy hats and 75-degree days in January are starting to suit me just fine.

Just keep that between you and me, though; my roots are in the east coast. Born and raised in the Philadelphia area, I went to school in Washington, DC to become a reporter. And after graduating, East Texas just seemed right.

While I know I have a lot to learn about being a Texan, I am adjusting. Being out in East Texas everyday, doing what I love, telling stories, is making things a lot easier.

I’m having a good time meeting new people everyday on my different assignments. So if you see me out somewhere and call me “that TV guy”, I’ll answer.

But, you can always just call me Joel.
