Latest NBC6 promo “NBC Spirit of South Florida” is not only 1 whole minute long, John Secada singing the song but it also has two gay guys sitting on a hammock with their pooch smiling at the camera, considering here’s gay country that’s pretty much a first for a local station to acknolewdge that there are gay guys in South Florida who are actually living together as family.

I’m noticing WPLG are using a female voice over in their latest promos and the guy is nowhere to be heard. Don’t know if it’s temp or permanent. Video

It looks to me like Channel 10 are milking the weather titties as much as they’d let em. There are at least 2 if not 4 weather promos running, sometimes back to back, pimping their Charley coverage, viewers calling in talking about their Charley coverage, viewers calling to say they’re Channel 10 converts and 10 taking a stab at the competition’s “noise”. The last one with the noise even has dance music to go with it. Disco weather anyone?

And in Laruie Jenning’s promo she says “It’s a great thing to be the station that doesn’t have to oversell anything”, there are 3 or 4 promos of her as well

Ivan is pretty far but 4, 7 and 10 are already doing special coverage on it while 6 has opted to go with Ellen untill 5. Meanwhile new lower third graphics for 7News to fit that annoying TV box showing the hurricane and that blue and red looks like something that’s for the elections
