Someone by the name of BK who works at WSVN’s graphics department. Well, him and a couple other people but he posted this behind the scenes video from his day at work creating one of the gajilion transitions, bumpers, and teases seen on 7News every day.
A reader dropped a note saying WSVN and WPLG have been added to livenewscameras.com
WPLG has one feed, I presume only their regular newscasts.
WSVN has two feeds, the one on their website which broadcasts on-air and a second feed that shows different thngs - mainly their weather computer, Skyforce dispatches and occasionally a live press conferences. Right now there is a police chase going on at the moment
you can find both feeds at the top of the second page
6:30pm open from 1994. Probably a little bit before the newsplex/globe open make over
Rob Hanrahan is now at WFOR, Jessica Aguirre just joined NBC11 in San Francisco from KGO, and Robin Meade is at CNN Headline News hosting Robin & Co
7 have gone back to the bad ass promos. This one either debuted on Sunday during the 5pm newscast, or it’s just new to me. Whoever does the graphics now 7 are coming up with some pretty interesting concepts.
There’s also another promo for Phil Ferro and the rest of the weather team that’s not as swooshy as this one, it looks more like the Phil Ferro promo that had no voice over on dark background.
So what do you think - hot or not? I vote hot, when it came on it made me turn and look at the TV just as I was looking to change channels. Cool stuff
Looks like they’ve changed the “News Today” bump and it’s pretty cool. Along the lines of what New Video bumper graphics are but much cooler. There’s a sphere, that looks a lot like the borg sphere on Star Trek, that opens up and a 7 logo pops out. Everything is very blue and chrome.
I’m sleepy, lazy and watching the solar eclipse live from Turkey, but I’ll try to get some screen shots later today if nothing crashes. Been having issues with my PC for a while.
Update:
I find it amusing how the 7 logo comes out of a Borg-like sphere :). And I do like how busy the background is but those things rotate a bit too fast. Some screencaps. I’m too lazy to to get the video it takes so long to edit and encode.
Just testing a video. Click the image, check it out and let me know if it’s not loading allright. I am thinking of switching to MPEG-1 for all videos but kind of don’t want to dump XviD because of it’s quality
